During these classes, you will use a variety of equipment including the Reformer, balls, bands, Pilates circles, weights, foam roller. Equipment class is great if you have an injury or specific goal because the physio will write you your own program specially tailored for you.
Matwork Pilates Classes
These Pilates classes are mat-based classes where you will use your own body weight and some of the smaller equipment such as resistance bands, gym balls, chi balls etc during class. The exercises vary from week to week to ensure good, all body strengthening and stretching.
Over 50s Pilates Classes
These classes are designed specially for more mature and less subtle bodies. Classes aim to not only improve core, general strength, flexibility, but also balance. Balance is something that tends to deteriorate as one ages, however there are often exercises that can be done to restore it.
Our highly skilled physiotherapists are trained in Pilates and understand how the body ages! They have been teaching Pilates classes with clients between the ages of 50 and even up to 80years old. They understand that while your body needs to keep moving, you may need to modify certain exercises, or take it a bit slower.
Keeping strong throughout pregnancy can help to reduce the toll of your pregnancy on your body (especially pelvic, hip and back pain) as well as helping you to bounce back faster after giving birth. As your baby grows, the exercises will be altered to suit your gestation and to keep you and your baby safe. Speak to your physio about which stream of our classes will suit you and your growing baby.
Mums & Bubs Classes

Pregnanct mums are able to join matwork or equipment classes. Your physio will help to determine what would be most suitable.
Everyone and every body is different. That is why it is essential to have an Initial Exercise Appointment with the physio before coming to your first class. During this appointment, your physio will chat to you about any injuries you may have, your goals, and teach you some of the basics. (This excludes Mums & Bubs Pilates. Please visit page for details and prices.)
In most cases, you will be ready to join our Pilates classes after this appointment. In some complex cases, you may require a few one on one Pilates sessions with your physio (eg after an accident, a long history of low back pain, acutely after spinal surgery).
